Wife of the Bayelsa State governor, Dr (Mrs.) RachealSeriake Dickson has called on royal queens from the Niger Delta states to discourage any form of influence militating against girls and youths in the region to leave Nigeria shores to Europe for greener pasture.

The first lady made the call while addressing wives of traditional rulers from the nine states of the Niger Delta during its maiden peace building summit held in Yenagoa at Honni Hills Hotel.

Dr. Racheal Dickson enjoined the royal queens to talk to women in their respective domains on the need to take their girls to school and not to leave them at home as education opens up opportunities for brighter futures for girls.

“By so doing you have changed the destiny of these girls and when you change the destiny of these girls, you have changed their destiny forever.

“We all have to come together to make sure everything militating against our girls, militating against our youths be it migration to Europe which has become a death trap, which is now a form of slavery so that our beautiful, intelligent and God fearing daughters are now sold for $250.

“We have a duty to go for advocacy mission in our community to tell our young girls, our daughters there is nothing in Europe that cannot be achieved in Nigeria”, she said.

Dr. Racheal also noted that as royal queens, they have a duty to stand by the girl child who might against her will, be forced into prostitution, drop out of school or violated by ensuring justice takes its course without any form of community settlement.
