The commissioner for Wealth Creation and Investment in Edo state, Emmanuel Usoh says the state government is ready to partner with groups or bodies trying to harness the huge potentials of the youths to enable them become self-reliant and equipped to face life’s obstacles.

The commissioner made the remark when an NGO group, Fortune Initiative(FI), paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Benin City, to intimate him on the organisation’s up-coming event.

Usoro, the former acting chairman, Board of Internal Revenue, Edo State, said  the movie industry is one of the mediums in which government can create jobs for youths in the state as well as help complement the efforts the state government  is making  to ensure youths in the state are trained and empowered.

Said he, “As government, we intend to develop the great potentials of the youths in Edo State. We are proud to support what you are doing.  We will see how we can reach out to movie industries to see how to fund the programme. I thank you for your concept to create the group, is an opportunity to invest in God’s kingdom

to discover the gifts and potentials of the youths.’’

Intimating the commissioner on the essence of their visit, the coordinator of Fortune Initiative, Valiho Osagie, said they came to see the commissioner ahead of their up-coming three- day drama gospel event for youths in the state.

He appealed to the commissioner for government‘s support to make the programme a reality.

“We want to bring various churches in Edo State together, and engage them in a drama competition, those who emerge as winners will take home prizes.I want you and your ministry to fully stand behind us. We need your support financially and otherwise, ’’Osagie implored.

He said gospel drama is a forum where youth talents, skills and potentials are discovered and an avenues of creating a platform for people that want to be making living through gospel music, art, craft and other opportunities.
