The newly elected members of the executive council of the Ibaa Branch of Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motor Cycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN) have been inaugurated.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony over the weekend at Ibaa, in Emohua Local Government Area, the state chairman of the association, Comrade Marinin Akpelu said that in order to maintain sanity and discipline in their operation and business, the new executive members must ensure that all the branch members work in line with the extant law of the state and respect the standards and rules of the state government in the transportation sector.
He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and team work among the new leadership as he harped on the need for peace and unity.
“Our Ibaa branch members of ACOMORAN must make peace and unity their priority. Our new chairman should try and bring everybody together as well as give them a sense of belonging,” he stated.
Comrade Akpelu told the new executive to add more value to the lives of members and help them improve on their services.
To avoid friction, he advised further: “Let the chairman of ACOMORAN do the work of chairman. Let the secretary do the work of secretary and let the financial secretary do the job of financial secretary. Do not interfere in the job of another exco member,”
Also speaking, the state public relations officer of ACOMORAN, Comrade Otiti Ndubuisi told the new executive that they have a lot of work to do in order to move forward. He charged them to remain focused and work for the overall interest of all members of the association, adding that when they work as one, a lot will be achieved.
Ealier in his remarks, the election committee chairman, Mr. Acho Nnari said it was unfortunate that members of the last executive stayed in office for over 16 years without conducting any election.
He expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the August 22 election of Ibaa ACOMORAN was conducted.
“Right from when the Ibaa election of ACOMORAN branch was conducted last August and the swearing in and the handover ceremony today, I want to say I am thoroughly satisfied”.
Mr. Nnari also urged the new chairman of the Ibaa branch of ACOMORAN to work with his executive to give every member of the association a sense of belonging.
“Please Sir, chairman make sure that you and members of your exco give every member of this association a sense of belonging. I know that each member of this exco has the capacity to lead this association but please each member of this association come together and rally behind members of this exco so as to move the association forward”.
He also appealed to those who lost in the contest to unite and help build a better association.
New chairman of Ibaa branch of ACOMORAN, Comrade Ochariri Benjamin Njoku pledged that he will not forget the efforts of the electoral committee in making the election a success.
The chairman maintained that following the democratic exercise and culture ushered into the association the new exco members would excel and do well, assuring on transparency and accountability.
“The recent conduct of election into the Ibaa branch of ACOMORAN is an indication that the new exco members will do well in the area of financial management. Under this administration we want to assure you that accountability, transparency and safety will continue to be our watch words. Besides, the new exco will do everything to restore the lost glory of the association,” he stated.
Comrade Njoku appealed to all members to rally round this administration to advance the union.

Others are: Richmond Omenuruhu, assistant secretary, Ohuo Emmanuel, treasurer, Amefula Wenendah , financial secretary, Nyebuchi Weke, PRO, Elechi Chimebere, welfare officer and, Ndubuisi Welekwe, provost.
