An angry mob has set ablaze an unidentified suspected killer of a Police Constabulary and a complainant at Evwreni community, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State while on mission to recover a stolen vehicle. A gang of 10 criminals on last Tuesday killed a deputy superintendent of Police (DSP), Sunday Okoebor, in Asaba, Delta State. The gang was, however, unlucky as men of the Nigeria Army from 63 Brigade arrested eight of them, out which two were incapacitated while two escaped. The soldiers, again mobilised to the criminals’ hideout where 125 others were arrested, eight of who were identified by residents as those who have been robbing them of their properties and terrorising their areas. The political battle between Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, took another downturn on Monday September 18, 2023 as the deputy governor was prevented from entering the Government House apparently on the orders of the governor. Four gunmen suspected to be kidnappers responsible for some recent attacks in Jesse, the commercial hub centre of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, have been killed by police operatives. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has endorsed the report of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) which called for a review of the Niger Delta Development Plan to determine its successes, failures and areas for improvement among other recommendations.
