To keep oil host communities abreast of happenings in the oil industry, an environmental rights non-governmental organization, Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF), has trained no fewer than 60 community volunteers in Bayelsa State. Another gas leak has occurred in Sangana Community in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The leak is reported to be from an Adriatic 1 rig owned by Conoil, on Wednesday June 29,2022. A major gas leak occurred in that community on November 1st, 2021 leaving the community folks with series of health challenges. Uyo-People of Ilaje displaced during the recent inter communal crisis in Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state have alleged that Ibeno youths sold their outboard motor engines totaling 500 at between N200,000 and N300,000 each.
