Delta State Government has praised Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its pivotal role in safeguarding oil facilities and stabilizing Nigeria’s economy.
Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, gave the commendation on Sunday during an interview on The Morning Show on Arise News, where he described Tantita’s operations as a “model of corporate citizenship.”
Aniagwu noted that the company’s efforts have significantly contributed to the rise in the country’s crude oil output — from 1.1 million barrels per day to about 1.7 million — thereby boosting both federal and state revenues.
“Delta, being the number one oil-producing state in Nigeria, is benefitting through derivation,” Aniagwu said. “Although we still believe that 13 percent is less than adequate, the benefits of Tantita’s security work extend beyond Delta. The federal government and the entire federation are reaping the rewards because improved oil production means more national income.”
He dismissed comparisons between Tantita’s operations in the Niger Delta and incidents of insecurity elsewhere in the country, insisting that the firm’s performance reflects professionalism and national commitment.
Aniagwu emphasized that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration remains steadfast in fulfilling its constitutional obligations to ensure the security and welfare of citizens. He outlined massive investments in infrastructure, welfare, and job creation as part of the administration’s development agenda.
“In the last two years, we have spent over ₦1.3 trillion on capital projects — roads, bridges, and flyovers that people can see and use,” he stated. “We pay salaries promptly and have launched several humanitarian programmes to assist widows and vulnerable citizens through empowerment and employment initiatives.”
According to him, prudent fiscal management under the Oborevwori government has kept the state solvent and ensured uninterrupted academic activities in public schools.
“Governor Oborevwori believes that it’s not enough for government to have money; that money must find its way into the people’s pockets to enhance their living standards,” Aniagwu said.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to its MORE Agenda — Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security — Aniagwu said the framework would continue to guide governance across Delta’s 25 local government areas.
“As we approach 2027, the Oborevwori government will sustain the synergy between politics and governance to ensure that Delta remains functional and that our people continue to feel the impact of government in their daily lives,” he assured.
