The legislator representing Ughelli North Constituency ll at the Delta State House of Assembly, Prince Eric Oharisi has debunked claims that he tested positive for COVID-19.
Oharisi, who spoke from his house in Asaba, refuted the claim being circulated by several social media platforms that he was the state’s index case who tested positive for Coronavirus announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday.
The Ughelli prince expressed shock at the report describing it as false in its entirety. He , adding that he was hale and hearty and had not been hospitalized in recent times for any sickness. He therefore urged the general public to disregard the rumour.
The legislator said he and his family were in good health and accused his political detractors for being responsible for the misinformation.
“I travelled last year and I returned January 28 this year. If anyone is having symptoms of COVID-19, it should be after 14 days. I attended sittings for over two weeks before issue of Coronavirus came up. I just don’t know where this is coming from.”
He revealed that he did not go through any COVID-19 test and expressed the belief that nemesis would catch up with those peddling the rumour.
