Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has been widely praised for his outstanding leadership and commitment to promoting unity and peaceful coexistence in the state. Tony Nathan Ile, a former state coordinator of Save Nigeria Group and one-time senior special assistant to the governor, in a statement, hailed Governor Diri’s efforts in bringing a new era of progress and development to the state.
According to Ile, Diri’s leadership has been marked by a strong commitment to unity, demonstrated by his historic appointment of opposition party members to his government. This move, Ile noted, has sent a powerful message of inclusivity and tolerance, and has helped to create a sense of belonging amongst all Bayelsans, regardless of party affiliations.
He also commended the governor’s visionary leadership in executing key infrastructure projects, including the Nembe-Brass Road and Angiama/Oporoma Bridge projects. These projects, he noted, will have a transformative impact on the state’s economy and connectivity, and help to unlock the state’s vast potential for growth and development.
According to Ile, Diri’s administration has also been credited with promoting unity amongst Bayelsans, through a range of initiatives and programs aimed at fostering peace and understanding. His tolerance and commitment to unity have created a conducive environment for sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
He prayed to God to continue to grant the governor wisdom, strength, and courage to lead the state to greater heights, adding, ” May his vision for a united, prosperous, and peaceful Bayelsa be fully realized, and may the people of our state continue to enjoy the fruits of his exemplary leadership.”
