The Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) has conducted an acceptance test on the huge power transformers it ordered from China for the Ogoni Power project it is executing.
The test team was led by the The Project Coordinator (PC), Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey, which visited JSB Zhejiang Jiangshan Transformer Co., Ltd. in Jiangshan, China, for the Factory Acceptance Test of transformers.
The technical team comprised HYPREP’s technical team, representatives of the Ogoni Power contractor, Energovod Engineering Ltd., and the project supervision consultant, Oska-Jo and Partners Ltd.
The equipment inspected included four 60 MVA Power Transformers and six 300 KVA earthing transformers for the Bodo and Wiiyaakara Substations. Satisfied with the equipment’s functionality and compliance with contract specifications, the Project Coordinator signed off on the test results, authorizing the shipment of the equipment.
The inspection is part of the Project Coordination Office’s efforts to deliver a fit-for-purpose power transmission line and substations in Ogoniland. Recall that 40 containers of tested power equipment shipped from India and China have been received at the Wiiyaakara Substation.
