Delta State Police Command has refuted a publication credited to a Cable News Online Publication that armed robbers invaded police barracks in Delta State.
In a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya and made available to our reporter, the commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Adeyinka Adeleke debunked the allegation stating that the publication was not only misleading but also a mere figment of the imagination of the author.
He called on members of the public to disregard it in its entirety the information , stating that it was a calculated attempt to create apprehension in the state. He called for clarification of information before publication.
“The offices of the commissioner of Police and the Police Public Relations officer respectively, have always been open and their contact numbers are there in the public domain. Thus, it is advisable that reports that concern the force could easily be verified before publication. Members of the press and other persons of the same calling are therefore enjoined to avail themselves of the opportunities made available above before publication’, the release advised.
