The lifeless body of the yet-to-be identified man was found along the busy Nnebisi Road and some residents who spoke on account of anonymity claimed they had seen the man alive on Friday along the same route until his beheaded body was discovered on Saturday morning.
Neither the circumstances surrounding the death of the man nor his identity could be ascertained as none of the resident who thronged the scene of the incident could identify the deceased.
The state police public relations officer, Onome Onowvakpoyeya, confirmed the incident when contacted.
Onowvakpoyeya, a deputy superintendent of Police (DSP), said the deceased was claimed to be a mad man but wondered why anyone would kill him in such a manner.
“Investigation on how to apprehend the culprit of such heinous crime has begun. We are aware that part of his body was missing when he was found”, she stated
