Good morning all,
I feel compelled to say a word on the so-called peace deal being heaped on us from the kitchen of Aso Rock supervised by a supposedly democratically elected President.
I shudder and any freeborn of this God blessed Rivers State would sneeze if the debauchery that is being paraded in the name of a deal for the people is allowed to prevail. Imagine, the deal says one man would determine who become chairmen of the 23 Local Government Chairmen. Is that not unthinkable in a normal democratic setting?
The deal bans the governor, Simimalayi Fubara from contesting the 2027 elections; is that not a void in the mentality of a thinking people? And come to think of it, Sim reportedly agreed to that. Is that not a portrayal of a frustrated man? Siminalayi Fubara was a desperate and frustrated man in that meeting.
In any case, could that deal be described and accepted as an agreement for the people of Rivers State? The answer is no. The people were not consulted for a meeting that concerned the collective interest of the people. So much to talk about on this contraption of a peace agreement for the people and without the people.
Siminalayi Fubara should resign if desperation has overtaken his vision and mission. For the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, and President Bola Tinubu, let them be told that Rivers State, spiritually and politically, could be juicy, attractive and profitable to capture and appropriate, but the consequence could be disastrous. My people say, kpakpasisi.
