A university lecturer, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi says the Vice- Chancellor of the Rivers State University (RSU) Nkpolu Orowurukwu, Port Harcourt, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule has not only delivered in the area of infrastructural development but has also done well in the creation of a conductive environment for teaching and learning.
Prof. Zeb-Obipi made this known last Monday in an exclusive chat with National Point in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the vice chancellor is doing well in all ramifications. In fact, the VC has done well. The University Community is grateful to him for a good job and his leadership style,” he said.
Prof. Zeb-Obipi who is the Director of the University ICTC stated that under the administration of Prof. Okogbule the university now has more departments and faculties.
He described Prof. Okogbule as a seasoned university administrator.
“Prof. Okogbule is a very patient person. He is cool headed. “In fact, he is a seasoned university administrator.”
Prof. Zeb-Obipi who is a Professor of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour explained that running three to four additional campuses of the university is a challenge pointing out that the VC has overcome the challenges.
“Running multi-campus is very tasking. No matter the challenges of running these extension campuses. I want to tell you that the VC of this university, Prof. Okogbule is doing surprisingly well. The university is moving on in the right direction under the leadership of Prof. Okogbule. The university is making a lot of progress,” Prof. Zeb-Obipi emphasized.
“Beyond the monthly inaugural lectures, having inaugural lectures back to back is an indication of an academic growth.”
Prof. Zeb-Obipi said that Prof. Okogbule should be commended for creating a conclusive learning environment for all the campuses of the university as well as the harmonious working relationship between the academic staff and non-academic staff, noting that under Prof. Okogbule the university now has about 14 to 15 faculties.
The director of the ICTC school assured that the ICTC workers would continue to be fair and just to all students who come to the centre for post-UTME exercise saying that merit will be their watchword.
