Members of St. Agnes Parish Church Ogan Ama Deanery, Diocese of Okrika (Anglican Communion), Church of Nigeria have held their 2022 Annual Adult Harvest/Thanksgiving Service with the Harvest of Generational Blessing Genesis 22:18 as well as organized the launching of N20 million church building expansion project.
Speaking while delivering his sermon at the event, Dr. (Prof.) Ogan pointed out that the theme for their 2022 annual adult harvest is like a bank customer who deposits and receives money from his bank.
“The theme of the harvest this year is like a customer who opens an account at his bank to deposit and receive money from his bank. The more the bank customer deposits the more he receives. Therefore, the more you give to the Lord, the more blessings you receive.”
Prof. Ogan stated that he and members of the church were grateful that Sir Engr. Kingsley Sundays delivered the sermon for the 126 Adult Harvest and Thanksgiving, adding that the sermon was inspirational.
“So, it is quite apt or heart warning for us to be part of this year’s harvest celebration. In fact, I must tell you that the sermon delivered this morning by Sir. Kingsley Sundays at the 126 annual adult harvest of our church was quite inspirational. On that note, I may honourably declared the 126 annual adult harvest and thanksgiving open, Alabo Prof. Ogan declared.
He commended the invited guests to their 2022 annual adult harvest and the entire congregation of St. Agnes Ogan Ama for their financial support and contributions.
Earlier, the secretary of the 2022 harvest planning committee, Sir Ibitoroko Ogan, said that there was the need for the Christian faithful of the church both at home and abroad to thank God and show appreciation to their Creator for keeping them alive from last year to this year.
“It is very important for members or Christian faithful of this church who are both at home and abroad to realize that we are among the living from last year to this year. You and I are so fortunate that we have done it from last year to this year. In fact, we need to thank our Creator for all his blessings and mercies upon our lives form 2021 to 2022,” Sir Ogan emphasized.
The secretary pointed out that since the foundation of the existing church and the growing membership of the church was on the increase, there is absolute need to expand the church.
“In view of the numbers of years this church has existed from the 70s and the increasing number of members, week-in week-out, there is the need for the expansion of our present church. This is the main reason why we have initiated the launching of N20 million church expansion building project. However, at the same time, we are looking at the first quarter of next year for the foundation laying for the expansion of our church building project,” Sir Ibiloroko assured.
He commended members of the 2022 Harvest Planning Committee for their input and understanding.
On his part, the Vicar/Rector of the church, Ven. Precious Nyanaboibi (JP) said that members of the congregation of the church are indebted to the invited guests, particularly the Amayanabo of Okrika Kingdom who was the Royal Father of the Day.
“We want to specially thank the royal father of Day, the Amayanabo of Okrika Kingdom, HRH T.E.O. Ogube (rtd) for his presence and support. And to other traditional rulers and our invited guests who are worshipping with us today, we salute you. We say may God bless you and may harvest celebration never cease in your respective families. We thank you for coming. We are very grateful. The good Lord will continue to sustain you all,” Ven. Nyanaboibi lauded. He described the 2022 harvest as beautiful.
