Nasir El Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, when he said they bugged the phone of the National security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, made a confession not an allegation. He confessed that he and a criminal gang are involved in bugging government people’s telephone lines. And as a former high level officer of the government, he has been bugging lines of citizens. You need to read, even when he too does not deserve much respect, Fani-Kayode on Rufai. What ICPC and EFCC are probing are allegations levelled on Rufai by his state government after an inquiry by the state legislature and not his confessed crime of bugging our security chiefs. But, should we take these two institutions serious? Was this not the same EFCC that was hunting Fubara everywhere before he became the governor? For what? For stealing money and keeping it probably for someone who has immunity or for someone the power that be then was after. Granted that Fubara now has immunity is the man he worked for then not now the most powerful and loudest of the ministers of today. And he doesn’t have immunity. When will EFCC ask him questions?
Ribadu. El Rufai. Fani-Kayode.
I don’t respect any of them. They lack principle and consistency! Was it not Ribadu who stood in the National Assembly and swore that Tinubu was the most corrupt governor in Nigeria? What next did he do? He charged and docked Tinubu for monumental corruption. Where is he today? Working for Tinubu. What this suggests is that he was used against Tinubu against his conscience! El-Rufai and Fani-Kayode were Obasanjo’s attack dogs against Tinubu and Atiku. The two made the Executive Council’s meetings uncomfortable for Atiku and made it impossible for him to get PDP’s ticket until Tinubu rescued him and gave him ACN’s platform!
Today Fani-Kayode is with Tinubu and celebrating his ambassadorial nomination while El-Rufai is with Atiku so bitter for his disqualification as a minister and wishing his enemies dead as he had killed some before, including a serving president.
My take on all this is that, Nigeria has very few people of honour in government and these people have mounted a barricade against good people to get into government.
