Three suspected student cult members have been apprehended by operatives of the Rumuolumeni chapter of the Ogbakiri Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) near the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State.
The suspects were reportedly intercepted while allegedly shooting sporadically around the university environment. OSPAC operatives pursued them as they attempted to flee into nearby creeks, but they were eventually arrested.
The operation was led by the Rumuolumeni OSPAC Chairman, Comrade Kenneth Orlumeni.
During the arrest, two rifles were recovered from the suspects. They have since been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation.
The arrested suspects were identified as: Sman Friday Wanyanwu – 200 Level, Department of Software Engineering, Woko Chibuike – 300 Level, Department of Computer Engineering, Clinton Smart – 200 Level, Department of R.C.S.
The police have not responded to the story.
