A woman leader and activist in Ndoni Kingdom, Chief Mrs. Adaobi Whyte Ajuwa, popularly known as Ada Ukwu-Ogene of Aboh and Ndoni Kingdoms, has drawn attention for tearing her traditional red cap in protest against the prolonged delay in the installation of a king in the community.
The protest, which has become a major talking point in the kingdom, was aimed at expressing dissatisfaction over what she described as years of leadership vacuum in Ndoni.

According to reports, Ndoni Kingdom experienced long periods of interregnum, including over 100 years at one point, followed by another 19 years and most recently 14 years without a traditional ruler.
Chief Adaobi, described as a prominent activist in the area, reportedly cut her chieftaincy red cap into pieces as a symbolic protest to compel Ndoni leaders and elders to act.
Her action is said to have contributed to renewed efforts by stakeholders, which eventually led to the installation of Awoh Ogbaenyi Ijoma Samuel I as king of the kingdom.
Ndoni Kingdom is located in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State and shares strong historical and cultural ties with the Aboh people of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State
