Late Madam Caroline Nwielo Obadiah
The public has been called upon to live a life worthy of emulation. The call was made by Pastor David Amakor during the burial service of a member of CEHRD’S Board of Trustees, Madam Caroline Leyiinu Akori Nwielo Obadiah in her home town, Kor, in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Delivering his words of admonition during the burial ceremony, Pastor David of Pacesetters Assembly, Port Harcourt charged members of the public to examine their lives at all times to ensure they are in good terms with God.
Describing life as a battle field, he said people should realize that their lives belong to God who has the powers to take them anytime he likes. He noted that there is no repentance in the grave and so the only opportunity to reconcile with God is when one is still alive. “Run to God because the days are evil and life is short”, he charged.
He said Caroline was a virtuous woman, who ran a good race and has returned to her maker, stressing that death is a debt everybody must pay.
Late Madam Caroline Leyinu Akori Nwielo Obadiah died in August 2018 at the age of 49, in August 2018 after a long battle with illness. A trained health officer, she worked as a primary health officer in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State. She, also, at various periods worked at Orogbum Health Centre, Pott Johnson Health Centre and the Port Harcourt City Council, all in Port Harcourt. She also worked as a rural health officer at the Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development, CEHRD and was a board and Trustee member of the organization until her death.
Her brother, Prince LezuaAkori, in a tribute, said her death has brought so much pain to the family.
Her first son, Suka described her as a precious gift from God. “You possessed good qualities and touched our hearts in so many ways. Your strength and smiles even in dark days made us believe we had an angel beside us”.
Dr Nubari Francis Nabie who heads the Rural Health and Community Development program of CEHRD where the late Caro worked noted that she was very energetic and hard working. “Her immense contributions to CEHRD are commendable and will be greatly missed”, he said.
Styvn Obodoekwe, CEHRD Program Director who led CEHRD team to the burial ceremony urged the family members she left behind to take solace in the fact that positive testimonies have escorted her to eternity. He said, Caro lived a life worthy of emulation, praying that God will welcome her into his paradise.
