The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has described the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture, NDCCITMA, as a catalyst for growth in the Niger Delta region. The Inspector -General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has accepted the quit notice issued by proprietor of Euphemie Motel to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit of the Nigeria Police Force lodged in the hotel at Opu-Nembe in Bayelsa State. Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited is targeting to produce 100,000 barrels of crude oil and five billion cubic feet of gas in three states in the Niger Delta. Suspected political arsonists have set ablaze the secretariats of Eleme and Ikwerre Local Governments in Rivers State. Uzodinma Nwafor of Action Alliance has been declared winner of last Saturday’s Chairmanship election in Etche local government area. In the result released on Saturday by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RISIEC, Uzodinma Nwafor defeated other candidates to emerge winner of the holy contested election.
