A Community Citizens’ Jury sitting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, has ruled over 15 Cases brought before it by the affected community members from the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. Bayelsa State government has donated a three-storey building equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities to the Federal Government for the use of Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC). The building, which is to serve as Centre for Conflicts Resolutions in the Niger Delta Region and situated in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa, used to be headquartered in Lagos. A bus driver, simply identified as Voki has been reportedly hacked to death in Benin City, the Edo State capital, over N20,000 unpaid balance for his hired 10-seater bus. The father of three was reportedly abducted by some hoodlums on Sunday night of June 4, 2023 after a confrontation between him and a yet-to-be identified person over the unpaid balance.
