The women of First Baptist Church,Ahoada (Cathedral of Excellent Parish) recently marked their 2023 Mothers’ Day with the theme: ‘Mothers’ As Gold’
Speaking during the event, the acting rector of the church, Rev. Dr. Kenneth Enyubara said that with the current situation of the country, women have a lot to do to save the country through prayers and other spiritual activities.
“As First Baptist Church Ahoada women celebrate their 2023 Mothers’ Day, I want to charge Nigerian women to save the nation by remaining resolute in their prayers. With the tension in the land and the current situation in the country, our women and mothers are expected to intensify both their spiritual and physical activities for the sake of the nation,” Rev. Dr. Enyubara admonished.
He described the 2023 Mother’s Day celebration of First Baptist Church Ahoada as apt because of its theme and what the future portends.
“The 2023 Mothers’ Day of First Baptist Church Ahoada with the theme is apt and appropriate because of Nigeria’s narrative in 2022 and during the 2023 general elections as well as the crisis and instability of the country,” he stated.
The rector of Obinze Baptist College explained that if women of the church can see themselves as gold, they would surmount the contemporary challenges in the country.
“If mothers or women will act as ‘gold’ as it were, the implication is that despite the challenges, they will not let the nation go into extinction and precipice,” Dr. Enyubara added.
He urged the women to be resolute and continue to contribute towards the progress and growth of First Baptist Church Ahoada across the country.
He commended the women for their team work and strong sense of unity and purpose.
Also speaking, wife of the rector, Mrs. Ebi Kenneth Enybara told women to do more, both at home and in society in order to ensure social stability through peace and prayer as well as respect for other people.
Mrs. Enyubara stressed the need for women to exhibit good character and show love to people irrespective of religion.
She urged the women of First Baptist Church Ahoada to continue to excel in whatever they do, and be active and dedicated to the work of God and humanity.
Earlier in her remarks, the president of Women Missionary Society (WMS) of the church, Mrs. Ogbobula Fortune Okechukwu charged the women to see themselves as gold and act according to the theme of their 2023 Mothers’ Day.
“I have told the women of our church to know that they are gold and behave like precious gold or jewel. They should be living an exemplary life and also know that their values and roles in the family and society is key in order to be seen as proper and well-rounded mothers or women,” Mrs. Ogbobula emphasized..
The president explained that the difference between this year’s mother’s day celebration of the church and that of last year was the introduction of a banquet.
She urged adolescent girls and young women to see themselves as gold and draw close to God.
