The regent of Kalasuwa of Ijaw Apoi in Ondo State, Her Royal Majesty Adosola Oladiran Ebiseni has appealed to the Federal Government to reserve the security of the Niger Delta for the youths in the region.
She made the appeal in an interview with the media during the Niger Delta Queens Peace Building Summit which held recently in Yenagoa.
The regent expressed her believe in employing the youths in the region to do the security, saying that security is a major challenge to all Niger Deltans.
“When I had the opportunity to speak with the Vice President, I told him what we want. We want our youths to do the security. We know each other.
“When the youths see a stranger in the creeks, they will know this person is a strange person. If this person is an insider, they know this person is an insider. To secure our land can only be done by ourselves”, she stated.
HRM Ebiseni while promoting teaching of Ijaw language stressed that she is a full Ijaw woman even though she speaks yoruba, adding that she is presently working on how to bring Ijaw language to the primary school curriculum in Ondo State.
“That is my major program. We don’t want to make it private, we want to make sure it goes into the government curriculum”, she hinted.
