The Commander of Nigerians Army Unit at Bille, in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State has paid homage to the Amanyanabo of Torusarama-Piri, Alabo Asari Dokubo, for helping to rescue a soldier that was kidnapped on the waterways in the area.
The Commander, who was accompanied by some of his officers and men took a salute before the traditional ruler and expressed the gratitude of the unit for what the king and his security group known as Mama Soldiers did to rescue Salihu Ibrahim that was kidnapped along with 19 other people earlier in May.

A statement from the palace of the amanyanabo said, “This gesture underscores the strong bond between the military unit and the traditional institution, highlighting the Amanyanabo’s influence and commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.
“This visit not only showcases the military’s appreciation for the Amanyanabo’s efforts but also strengthens the existing relationship between the security forces and the traditional leadership. It’s a testament to the impact of collaborative efforts in addressing security challenges and promoting peace in the region.”
