Omobude Recounts Life As A Vendor

Dr. Felix Omobude, the former President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), has shared his remarkable life story, revealing humble beginnings that propelled him to great heights.
Speaking at a colloquium held to celebrate his 80th birthday at Light House University, Dr. Omobude recalled his days as a newspaper vendor in Benin, a job he undertook to finance his education.
His story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the transformative impact of early life experiences.
Driven by a burning desire to attend school, young Omobude braved the streets of Benin, selling newspapers to earn a living.
He also picked cherries to make ends meet while his peers were in school, this was due to his parents’ financial constraints.
These experiences, though challenging, instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for education.
He acknowledged that these formative years significantly shaped his character and laid the foundation for his future success.
Having overcome adversity and achieved significant accomplishments, Dr. Omobude felt a strong calling to give back to society.
Blessed with the opportunity to make a difference, he established institutions aimed at improving the lives of many Nigerians.
His journey from a newspaper vendor to a respected leader and philanthropist serves as an inspiration to countless individuals, demonstrating that with determination and faith, anything is possible.
The former PFN President also urged Nigerians to see challenges as part of man’s existence, noting that life without challenges becomes boring, but however, in all the challenges, God always makes out a way.
The 80th birthday celebration featured free healthcare services to the inhabitants of Evbuobanosa and its neighbouring communities.
Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs. Blessing Ogbeiwi, thanked the donor for remembering them at this critical time when things are very expensive to afford.
