Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a police inspector identified as David in Amakumba community, Etche Local Government Area.
A report monitored on Nigeria Info FM Monday evening said the police public Relations Officer, Mrs. Grace Iringe-Koko, has confirmed the story.
The report quoted Mrs. Iringe-Koko to have said that investigations had been launched and efforts commenced to arrest those behind the attack.
It reported that an eyewitness, from Okehi community had said the incident happened during a stop-and-search operation by the police. No further details were given.
