Falconets manager Christopher Danjuma has called up 25 players for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Burundi next month.
Nigeria made it to the penultimate qualification round after edging past Tanzania 3-2 on aggregate in the previous round last month while Burundi dispatched DR Congo.
Some of the players on the list are goalkeepers Anderlin Mgbechi and Shukurat Bakare, defenders Oluchi Ohaegbulam and Comfort Folorunsho, midfielders Taiwo Afolabi and Adoo Yina, and forwards Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, Chisom Chima and Aminat Omowunmi Bello.
The list also includes U-17 Women’s World Cup bronze-medallist goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Jumoke Alani, Emamuzo Edafe and Shukurat Oladipo, as well as midfielders Chinyere Kalu and Chioma Olise, and forwards Opeyemi Ajakaye, Oluwayemisi Samuel and Janet Akekoromowei.
The players are expected to resume camp in Abuja on December 27th ahead of the first leg on the weekend of January 12th-14th before the return leg at the MKO Abiola Stadium a week later.
