President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated a high-powered committee to mend internal rifts within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Titled the Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation, the group was unveiled Wednesday in Lagos.
It was set up to foster unity and “renewed hope” among aggrieved members.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni is the chairman of the committee, with former legal adviser Muiz Banire serving as secretary.
The team includes influential figures such as Governors Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Uba Sani (Kaduna), and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), alongside federal ministers Adegboyega Oyetola and Bello Matawalle.
Governor Buni pledged that the committee would prioritise collective interests over personal sentiments to ensure a “result-oriented” strategy.
This move follows President Tinubu’s recent appeal for the party to remain “accommodating and resilient” to protect Nigeria’s democracy.
