The families of Koripamo and Amabebe of Odi, Amaran and Fetepigi of Kaiama and Nembe, and Oliki of Kemmer Ama in Twon, Brass Kingdom, have announced the funeral arrangements for their matriarch, Madam Evangeline Mediaye Koripamo, who passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 88.
In a funeral announcement signed by Dr. Timiebi Koripamo-Agary, OON, on behalf of the families, the deceased was described as a beloved sister, aunt, cousin and matriarch whose life was marked by grace, faith and service.
The family said they received her passing with deep sorrow but also with gratitude to God for a life well lived and in submission to His divine will.
According to the funeral programme, a brief lying-in-state will be held at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the family residence located at 3 Ndoki Street, Coronation Layout, Borokiri, Port Harcourt.
The body will depart Port Harcourt for Odi in Bayelsa State at 8:00 a.m., with chiefs and elders expected to receive the funeral party upon arrival in the community at 10:00 a.m.
Thereafter, the body will be taken to the family home at Ifidi Ama, Odi, ahead of the funeral service scheduled for 12 noon at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Odi.
Following the church service, Madam Koripamo will be interred at the family home in Ifidi Ama, Odi.
The family has invited relatives, friends and well-wishers to join in celebrating the life and legacy of the late matriarch and to bid her a final farewell during the obsequies.
A dress code of white attire has been prescribed for mourners attending the funeral ceremonies.
The announcement concluded with a prayer that angels accompany the deceased to her eternal rest.
