Ahead the Edo State 2020 governorship elections, the factional chairman of the APC, Chief Anselm Ojezua, has begged the newly inaugurated reconciliation committee members to ensure they bring all aggrieved members back to the party.
Ojezua made the request at the APC Secretariat when he set up a membership and Mobilization committee to bring back angry members, and make sure the it reconcile all the bitter EPM members loyal to the National chairman of APC , comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole to the party.
The APC scribe told the committee chairman and its members to pay more attention on membership drive, the interest and opinion of the people about the party, for those that have interest to join APC, and they should make ensure all the vital strategy is adopted to bring them back.
Ojezua advised them to work as a team to achieved their objectives. He promised them he will communicate it to the governor of the state , Godwin Obaseki, and urged them they will get the necessary support from the government.
Recently, the special adviser to the governor on Political Matters, Comrade Charles Idahosa assured the people of the state that the fracas rocking the APC in Edo will soon end.
Idahosa said the reason why the crisis persisted is because of the greed and selfishness of the immediate past governor of the state, comrade Aliu Oshiomhole.
He gave the hint when he and his entourage visited the NUJ Press Centre, Benin-City to celebrate the New year with the journalists.
Charles Idahosa said how which the national chairman advised the aggrieved 14 lawmakers who boycotted seating and refused to come for swearing in very well, the crisis would not have escalated to this extend. He blamed Oshiomhole for the crisis that has rocked the party.
He also went down memory line and told journalists how he started his career as a journalist working for NTA in Edo state and advised them to be patriotic in their profession.
Assuring the party of their job, Chairman of the membership mobilization committee , Hon. Matthew Iduoyekemwen , said the committee will not disappoint the trust and confidence bestowed on them.
The former lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly, said they will do everything possible to bring all aggrieved members to the party. He said if it would possible to bring everybody in Edo to APC they will do it.
The former NDDC commissioner representing Ikpoba Okha, asserted:” we are willing to bring everybody to APC. We are going to set up target for ourselves. Our target is for everybody in Edo State to become APC members.”
