Two men, Chigozie Ohamago and his uncle, Patrick Okonkwo are presently cooling off in police detention after they were arrested in connection to an armed robbery incident.
According to the police public relations officer of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, the arrest was made following a complaint made to the Okpanam Division of a robbery incident.
Following the report, he said the police swung into action and arrested Chigozie, who is from Ogbedogu quarters in Okpanam.
In the process of investigation, the police, led by the DCO, went to Chigozie’s house and executed a search warrant.
One pump action gun and one fabricated pistol were recovered from Chigozie
The suspect stated that the pump action gun was given to him by one of his uncle’s named Patrick Okonkwo of same address while the fabricated pistol was given to him by one Japheth whose surname is unknown, for safe keeping.
Efforts have been intensified to apprehend the said Japheth while Uncle Patrick Okonkwo has been arrested and full scale investigation has commenced.
Suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
