Delta State commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, has assured entrepreneurs of STEP (Steprenuers) and YAGEP (Yageprenuers) of constant support. From the state government the state government
Aniagwu, who stated this during a courtesy visit by the Steprenuers and Yageprenuers to him, added that the intention of the government was to address the issue of unemployment and wealth creation in the state.
The commissioner said entrepreneurs should be able to put their skills into practice adding that a single successful entrepreneur could be an employer of labour which would reduce the problem of unemployment in the state.
While urging the entrepreneurs to widen their membership to all senatorial districts in the state, he advised them to embark on peer review mechanism with their contemporaries, stating that it would help others identify with their success stories.
The Information commissioner praised the group for its positive mentality in kicking against what he referred to as ‘rent and entitlement’ mentality and thanked them for the various programmes they initiated to give back to society.
Earlier, the president of the STEP/YEGAP Entrepreneurs Group, Mr Authentic Ojuwa, had stated that the programmes which were meant to empower youths between 18-35 years through different vocational skills had spread prosperity to all Deltans in the last four years.
MrOjuwa said their mission was to contribute to the development of Delta State with their skills as entrepreneurs, adding that an award would be given to the State governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his job creation initiative.
