Residents of Asaba, Delta State capital, today, woke up to behold a gory sight of the body a yet to be ascertained man who committed suicide by hanging.
The tall looking man was found hanging in front of a store opposite Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
As news of the alleged suicide spread into town, thousands of people, who defied the early morning rain, trooped out to see the man who was still hanging in front of a store.
As at the time of filing this report, nothing is known about the man as residents of the area, who spoke on account of anonymity, said they have never seen the man in the area before.
Others wondered why the man’s legs were on the ground if it was a case of hanging. They called on the police to do a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances of the man’s death.
Effort to speak with the owner of the shop was not successful as he was not around.
Contacted, the image maker of Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident. She said the body has been evacuated to the morgue.
