Following earlier calls by the Edo State Government warning traditional rulers, Odionweres and community leaders, to desist from harbouring criminals and kidnappers in their houses, the state government has charged eight suspects to court, for conniving with kidnappers to attack the Edo train station which led to the abduction of 21 passengers, recently.
Arraigned before the Edo State High Court on two count charges, were the eight suspects including Chief Ibadin Hamilton, Ighoko Mustapher Odion, Okojie Dominic Ewa, Ojie Patrick, Friday Ighedujiemu, Halilu Umaru, Aminu Ibrahim and Isah Aliyu.
Governor Obaseki had earlier called for the investigation of circumstances surrounding the kidnap, with a strong condemnation of the management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation for very poor security presence at the train station.
