The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has directed that the salaries of all staff and, financial requests from faculty deans and heads of departments be suspended with immediate effect.
According to a statement signed by the university’s acting registrar, Ambrose E. Odiase, the management’s decision is informed by, “the non-compliance of some deans of faculty and heads of department to submit result files as well as the slow pace of upload of 2020/2021 sessional results to the university’s portal (Kofa)”.
The registrar stated that their failure to comply with the result process, has affected the school.
“The implication of this failure or slow pace, as it were, is that the current 2022/2023 academic session cannot be activated on the Kofa.”
When contacted for further explanation on the subject matter, the head, Corporate Communication and Protocol, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Otunba Mike Aladenika, said, “The management is disturbed with the backlog of results yet to be uploaded which, we know, is affecting the general progressional movements of our students. It is no longer acceptable, hence the need to be more firm in our bid to positively get things done the way it should be.”
Commenting on the processing of transcripts in the university, Comrade Otunba Aladenika said: “Management is aware of the scandalous nature of processing transcript applications in AAU, and as such, it has directed that the ICT Directorate digitizes all students’ academic records that are not captured on the Kofa”.
He said the loophole created by the slow result uploading process had created room for transcript racketeering which is being sternly addressed.
“It may also interest you to know that a cartel of transcript racketeering has been smashed in the university, with suspects currently before a disciplinary committee with a view to determining the level and depth of their operations within the institution.
“I can confidently tell you that it is no longer business as usual for recalcitrant elements in and outside the system, as we are more determined than before, to wipe them out and return the university to the path of glory.”
Comrade Aladenika further stressed that all the management actions have the blessing of the Special Intervention Team.
