A group under the aegis of Concerned Ovia North – Easth Voice, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State has protested what it described as the imposition of a non-indigene and non-party member as the Executive Chairmanship candidate of the council. National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Edo State command, has said that its operatives have arrested 104 suspects in possession of hard drugs in the state. The state Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, who disclosed this while presenting his first quarter operational scorecard in Benin, noted that the agency destroyed cannabis worth N1.8 billion. Ofoyeju said, “Those arrested during various intelligence-led raid operations compromised 71 males and 33 females totaling 104. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has decided to locate a 10,000 barrels per day condensate refinery in the Oredo/Orhionmwom axis of Edo State. The location of the refinery, according to Edo Government sources was informed by the large deposit of gas and crude oil in the area. The Edo State Police command has arrested 13 murder suspects, 87 kidnappers, 14 armed robbers, 15 cultists and rescued 30 kidnapped victims in less than two months in the state.
