Anambra State judiciary has established a special court to try offences against children, sexual offences and gender based violence. The Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, approved the establishment of specialized court in response to a request by the commissioner for women and social welfare Anambra state, Mrs Ify Obinabo. A 19-year-old girl has been raped and stabbed to death at Agenebode, the administrative headquarters of Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. The attack happened a few hours after a Benin-based accountant allegedly killed his pregnant wife, then hanged her corpse to feign suicide in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
