Amnesty International, Nigeria has condemned the level of extrajudicial killings in the South East. It has called for an end to the killings. The Environmental Rights Action has said that the ongoing divestment by oil multinationals will adversely affect the nation’s economy, saying that the process was improperly done, as the economy, jobs and even host communities are not given consideration. The United Indigenous People of Africa (UNIPA), a global self-determination group for indigenous nationalities on the continent, has faulted the newly re-introduced Water Resources Bill, seeking to place all resources accrued through water on the surface or in the ground under the control of the Federal Government.
