The national leadership of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has upheld the expulsion of the former director of projects in the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Cairo Ojuogboh. The decision to ratify Ojuogboh’s expulsion as recommended by the Delta State chapter of the party is coming barely 24 hours after the party’s national legal adviser, Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq, Esq. nullified the punitive action, saying that the chieftain was not given fair hearing. Edo State commissioner of Police , CP Mohammed Dankwara has ordered detectives from the Homicide Department  to fish out the suspected gunmen who murdered a Catholic priest, Rev. Father Charles Onomhoale Ighechi of the Benin Archdiocese on Wednesday, June 7 in the Edo State capital. A 39-years old man, Mr. Sunday Ejeh, has been arrested by the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police over an alleged defilement of a nine-years old girl in Ugbogi community, Ighobazuwa , Ovia North West local government of Edo State  The suspect, Mr. Ejeh was said to have lured the victim to his room where he had sexual intercourse with her and gave her N600 after the act.
