As Governor SiminalayiFubara of Rivers State continue to promote peace and tranquility. A business mogul in Nigeria crown Prince Owen Mekwa has advised Governor Fubara to confront his political opponent in the state rather than treat them with kid gloves.
Crown Prince Mekwa gave this advice recently in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt.
According to him, my advice to Governor Fubara is to stop treating his detractors and political opponents with kid gloves but to use his executive powers to deal with them.
Crown Prince Mekwa also charged Governor Fubara to warn the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja based politicians of Rivers State extraction to desist from sponsoring the Rivers based politicians who are working against him (Governor Fubara).
“The time has come for Governor Fubara to warn the Abuja based politicians otherwise known as Ogas in Abuja who are involved in ‘lootocratism’ and who are also sponsoring the state based politicians to attack and criticize Governor Fubara unnecessarily to desist,” he said.
He expressed satisfaction with Governor Fubara’s achievement and milestones within one year in office.
“Within 12 months in office under Governor Fubara, I want to say that I am satisfied with the policies and programmes of his administration as well as his achievements and milestones, especially the flag-off of the dualization and construction of the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku road. Again, the inauguration of the Emohua/Kalabari road which starts from the famous Ogbakiri junction, and the recent flag off of the Phase 2 of the Trans-Kalabari road,” Omekwa opined.
He described Governor Fubara as a dedicated leader, adding that he means well for the overall interest of the state.
He appealed to Governor Fubara to hold a meeting with Rivers men and women who are doing business in the maritime sector in order for him (Gov. Fubara) to understand what the maritime and blue economy is all about, stressing on the need for the governments to complete the on-going Eleme section of the East –West road.
“As a Nigerian based businessman, I want to passionately appeal to the Federal and sate Governments to re-double efforts and complete the on-going Eleme section of the East-West road project to enable business to thrive and flourish in the area,” Mekwa pleaded.
He commended Governor Fubara for releasing N4.billion naira for SMSE operators and traders in the state.
“Within one year in office Governor Fubara has done a lot in the area of human capital development. You will recall that as part of his 100 days in office in September 2023 Governor Fubara announced the release of over N4 billion for traders and those in small and medium enterprises.”
He stated that since it takes time to build a good society, therefore Rivers people and residents of the state should be patient and understanding with Governor Fubara and members of his team or cabinet in order to develop the state rapidly and evenly.
He urged Rivers youth in particularly and Niger Delta youth in general to be focused and act responsibly while charging parents and guidance to ensure that their children and wards are put in their best behavior.
