Despite the heavy down pour and threats of violence made by political gladiators in the Edo state governorship election holding today Saturday September 21,2024. Mr. Fatal Jimoh, age 62years a registered voter in Eredo local government area ward 4 polling unit 20, told National Point News that no matter his condition everybody likes development, just want continuity in governance and he is out to exercise his civic right.
“No matter my condition I want development, continuity in governance and I’m out to exercise my civic right “.
I implore the person who will emerge the winner to govern well;the next governor to look at human capital, infrastructural and all area development at every nook and cranny of Edo State.
Elder Jimoh decried a situation where people living with disabilities have been neglected in the state.
Jimoh,with a heavy laden voice expressed how they are excluded in the distribution of all the palliatives in Edo State.
“We are excluded in the palliative distribution in the state and this not evenly done”.
The 62 years old Jimoh,seized the medium appeal to those in authority to prioritise the welfare of those living with disabilities because they need employment too.
Also speaking to this medium Hon. Bright Aisien,the immediate past councillor who represented Eredo local government area ward 4, said in Eredo,ward 4 there are over 20 thousand voters and 43 polling units in the ward.the slight reduction of voters is as a result of the heavy rain and the threats of violence made during the build up to the election.
“Due to the rain the turn up seems low but the process for now is peaceful.”
While casting his vote in Eredo local government area, ward 4 polling unit 19 the state governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki, said he is glad with the process at the moment;stressing that the voting process is peaceful.
“I am glad with what am seeing in my unit for now and I just hope that the collation process will be the same”
Mr. Obaseki expressed satisfaction on the security arrangement and asked them not to be bias as they are ready for the election.
