A presidential aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Sam Ohuabunwa, has said that God has heard the prayers of Nigerians.
Dr. Ohuabunwa said this in Asaba when he visited the leadership of the PDP in Delta State as part of his consultation round the country.
Addressing journalists after the meeting with party leaders, the aspirant said he was in Delta State to commune with the party leaders and to formally informed them of his ambition to run for the office of the president.
Dr Sam Ohuabunwa, revealed that he had been going round the states of the federation since January, 2021 to consult with the people and the visit to Delta State made it 26 states he had visited.
The aspirant, who revealed that he started with a political group known as the New Nigerian Group that has grown and have members in all the states in Nigeria, also remarked that he had a vision of a New Nigeria where Nigeria would be great.
He observed that justice brings peace and unity and as such, the office of the president should be zoned to the South-East.
Dr Ohuabunwa expressed the belief that the PDP would zone the presidency to the South-East.
“I believe the time has come that God has heard the prayers of Nigerian people, prayers of the needy, the malign, the unjustly treated, the widows and the orphans. God has heard their prayers and He is about to act and in acting, He does not recognise zone.”
Also, the presidential aspirant noted that there had been series of political handshake between the South-East and other geo-political zones in Nigeria.
“The handshake has been physically demonstrated at the forum involving the Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, South-South and South-East with Chief E.K. Clarke as the leader of the forum. We all agreed that power should shift to the South-East.”
He remarked that he had travelled by roads in his consultations, adding that leaders ought to experience what the followers are experiencing so that they would appreciate the challenges of the people because, according to him, it’s not all about throwing money at the people
” People are becoming aware and they have realised that there is more to running an office than throwing money at people. If it is all about money, then we can get some armed robbers and kidnappers who can throw money at us and then we make them governors and president. The era of sitting in one place and be throwing money at the people is over.”
