I have seen several emotional reactions from very angry Ijaws over the perennial insults and recent tantrums thrown at the Ijaw ethnic nationality by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Understandably they have a right to be angry especially when you consider the fact that the Ijaws midwived his political ascendency and also penned and hatched the power sharing agenda for Rivers State in 1999.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, there is need to be temperate in our reactions and not join the fray by condescending to his gutter politics. The best response by the Ijaws to Minister Wike should be rather given in 2027. Such a response should also be extended to PBAT who has tacitly given approval to his rascally behaviour and Garrison politics in Rivers State.
It is also good that his vituperation did not spare the ‘Asawana’ friends in his camp. A key lesson which I will freely squid for them is the fact that in the eyes of Minister Wike, they’re just a raw material for his special purpose vehicle. The earlier they realize this, the better for them. Asawana!
