The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency for the 2023 general elections, Chief Chikaodi Dike has charged politicians in the country to identify with people of all classes in society.
Chief Dike gave this charge at Rumukwachi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, during the child dedication of little Miss Confidence Sampson Akani, daughter of Mr. Sampson Akani and Mrs. Aruchi Akani of Rumukwachi town.
“I want to use this opportunity to appeal to the movers and shakers as well as the political demagogues in the country to identify with the less privileged and all classes of people in our society,” Chief Dike stated as he identified with the celebrating couple.
The former Obio/Akpor local government chairman also urged philanthropists and good spirited Nigerians to support the Akanis in order to ensure a better future for Baby Confidence Akani.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Dr. Mike Thomas said that both the rich and
Dr. Thomas who is the head of department of History and Diplomatic Studies in the University of Port Harcourt charged the parents of Confidence Akani to inculcate the virtues of dignity in labour into the child from infancy to grow up to be a responsible citizen.
“It is my prayer that little Confidence Akani will grow up to be a responsible citizen in society. It is also my prayer and wish that this baby girl will not be a problem to her community and country and that men and women will come to her table to eat,” Dr. Thomas prayed.
He commended the father of the baby and the people of Rumuokwachi town for the peaceful co-existence among the residents of the town, particularly the indigenes and non-indigenes of the area.
Also speaking, Eze Anthony Amadi advised the parents to ensure that their daughter does not lack as being responsible parents is the ability to cater for the well-being of the child.
He described Mr. Akani, the father of the baby girl as a man of integrity, who would not shirk away from his responsibility.
Father of little Miss Confidence Akani, Mr. Sampson Akani said the number of people that attended her child dedication was an indication that he and members of his family are loved and appreciated in this part of the country and thanked God for the gift of the child, a third.
Akani who is the APC Ward 16 chairman in Obio/Akpor LGA, assured the quests that he and his wife, would do their best to train up Confidence in the right way.
Chief Chikaodi Dike of Ward 16 and APC candidate for Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency will be challenging the current of Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency representative, Hon Ogundu Kingsley Chinda of the PDP.
The former caretaker chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, hails from Ogbogoro in Akpor Kingdom while Hon Kingsley Ogundu Chinda, a former commissioner for Environment in Rivers State hails from Elelenwo in Oropotoma Kingdom.
