A daredevil son and indigene of Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, identified as Kido has murdered his father, one Mr lK Onyeyai in the farm.
Trouble started on Friday, October 14, 2022, when the deceased confronted the son over harvesting his (father’s) crops without permission.
A hot argument was said to have ensued and it resulted in the son killing the father by hitting him on the head with an object.
It was gathered that the villagers from Ukpai, swung into action and had him arrested and handed over to the police to whom he has made confessional statement.
In his confessional statement, the boy said: “He came to meet me in the farm where I was working. He wanted to take the cutlass, because we are not in good terms, when he carried the cutlass that he will used to cut me, I used the firewood to block him, I then used the firewood to hit him.“As he was falling, his phone fell from him, I then collected the phone. I didn’t know he will die. “It was firewood I used. When I was going to the farm, everybody saw me, I was not carrying anything”.
Asked how many times he used the firewood on the father, he said: “Three times”, lamenting that he was ignorant of the fact that his action would cost him the life of his father. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Edafe Bright, confirmed the ugly inciden
