The Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Chief (Hon.) Obarilomate Ollor, has applauded Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Company Ltd for empowering more than 250 youths from its host communities through a comprehensive skills acquisition programme.

Chief Ollor, represented by the Secretary of Council, Barr. Joseph Kattey, gave the commendation on Wednesday at the closing ceremony of the Indorama Host Community Skill Acquisition Programme, where beneficiaries received professional starter packs to support their entry into entrepreneurship.
He described Indorama as “a true pace setter” in youth development, employment support and empowerment, and called on other companies operating in Eleme LGA to emulate the company’s commitment to community development. He also commended the General Manager, Government and Community Affairs, Mr. Kendrick Oluka, for sustaining productive partnerships with the communities.

In his remarks, the King of Eleme, His Majesty King Dr. Philip Osaro Obele, JP, bestowed ancestral blessings on the beneficiaries and praised Indorama for maintaining a long-standing, mutually beneficial relationship with the Eleme people. He urged the company to continue delivering transformative programmes for the youth.
Speaking earlier, the General Manager, Government and Community Affairs, Mr. Kendrick Ejire, reaffirmed Indorama’s commitment to building a future in which Eleme youths are skilled, self-reliant and positioned to become employers of labour. He encouraged the trainees to judiciously use their starter packs and convert their newly acquired skills into viable businesses.

Starter Packs Presented Included brand new cameras, lighting equipment, tripods, memory cards, laptop computers, sewing machines and accessories, baking ovens, paint-mixing machines and chemicals, among others.

The empowerment initiative further reinforces Indorama’s long-standing commitment to human capital development, economic growth and sustainable community advancement in Eleme.
