Aleto Unity Football Competition has kicked off in grand style. Speaking to sports writers at Aleto Clan Central Football pitch, the chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Engr. Micah Ejire said that the main purpose of the football completion was to unite the entire people of the clan.
“The purpose of the Aleto Unity Football Competition is to unite the entire people of Aleto. In fact, with the kickoff the Aleto Unity Football Competition of 2023/2024 the people of Aleto clan will remain indivisible. This competition and other related cultural events in the area will continue to bring the people of this clan together,” Engr. Ejire assured.
He described the game of football as a unifying force, pointing out that there has been a lot of improvement in terms of organization and the playing techniques.
“Since Aleto Unity Football competition was introduced a couple of years ago, I want to tell you that there has been a lot of improvement both in organization and the player’s techniques. Indeed, I want to say that the aim of this competition has been realized, Engr. Ejire said.
He appealed to football administrators and coaches to come and watch football matches in the on-going Aleto football completion in order to pick talented players/
I want to appeal to members of the Rivers State FA and football coaches across the country to come to Eleme and watch matches of the on-going Aleto Unity Football competition in order to pick and select young talented footballers. They should also have it at the back of their mind that the people of Aleto are organizing this competition for the whole country not just for Aleto people,” Engr Ejire said.
He appealed to players of the participating teams in the competition to be disciplined.
Our correspondent reports that in the opening match of the competition, Chumu FC beat Ewuu FC by 5 – 0 as Master Emmanuel Chumu scored 3 goals.
