Councillor Embarks On Road Project To Mark 100 Days In Office

The Chief Whip of Eleme Legislative Assembly and councillor representing Alesa Ward 1, Hon. Obele Humphrey Dada, has embarked on a road development project in the ward to mark his 100 days in office.
During the inspection of the sites, Hon. Obele, said the project would have a positive impact on the community as it will attract investors and improve access to local farmers.
“This is particularly significant for the women in the community, who play a vital role in agriculture and will greatly benefit from the improved infrastructure,” he said.
The councillor’s efforts to upgrade the roads in Alesa are part of his commitment to enhance the quality of life in the community and stimulate economic growth, create opportunities, and ensure that the community remains a desirable place to live and work in.
According to him, the project underscores the importance of local governance in driving development and progress. “As a representative of the people, the efforts demonstrate my dedication to address the needs of Alesa community, and promote accountability,” he said.
Hon. Obele had on a previous date inspected facilities and hosted a town hall meeting at Ngele Community, where he announced the delivery of a transformer to the AP community.
The community committee had previously reached out to Hon. Obele to help connect the community to public power supply having been without electricity for almost 12 years.
Hon. Obele was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Chief of Staff of Eleme Local Government, Hon. Godspower Nwakaji, the Chairman of Alesa community Development Committee, Comr. Osarojiji Prince Joseph, the President of Alesa Scholars Association, Dir Benson Osarokote and Chairman of Alesa Graduates Forum, Comr. Mgbere Timothy.
Ngele community leaders expressed their gratitude to Hon. Obele for his efforts to restore electricity to the AP community, which they said aligned with the agenda of the Eleme Local Government Chairman, Chief Brain Gokpa.
During the meeting, community leaders raised issues about security and requested permission to recruit vigilantes to secure the area and the new transformer.
Chief Monday Nwosu, who spoke on behalf of the community, commended Hon. Obele for remembering his electoral promises and praised the recent government efforts to restore light to the AP community.
