Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured residents that his administration will continue to deliver critical infrastructure and address pressing developmental needs despite the limited time remaining in his tenure.
Fubara gave the assurance while commissioning the reconstructed 12.1-kilometre Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche Local Government Area of the state.

The governor said the remaining period of his administration would not prevent it from executing projects capable of making lasting impacts on the lives of the people.
He acknowledged that he would have wished to accomplish more, but noted that the time available to the administration was gradually running out.
According to him, governance must remain focused on improving the socio-economic wellbeing of the people, irrespective of the circumstances confronting an administration.
Fubara also promised to provide a standard medical facility in Etche before the expiration of his tenure.

He made the commitment in response to a request by the Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Chima Njoku, for improved healthcare infrastructure in the area.
The governor said his administration would not abandon critical needs simply because of the limited time left in office, stressing that the essence of governance was to improve the quality of life of the people.
Speaking on the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road, Fubara said the project was conceived and executed during one of the most difficult periods of his administration.
He said the decision to reconstruct the road was driven by the conviction that posterity would judge the administration by the positive impact of its decisions rather than the challenges and complaints surrounding them at the time.

The reconstruction of the 12.1-kilometre road commenced in November 2024.
Fubara assured residents that the road had been properly constructed, noting that the execution of projects of such magnitude required an administration that understood the needs and aspirations of the people.
He said the commissioning of the road demonstrated his administration’s commitment to providing infrastructure that would improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities and enhance the quality of life of residents.
The governor commended the Etche council chairman for his efforts to provide electricity and take measures aimed at protecting lives in the area.
He reiterated his administration’s determination to continue investing in projects that would deliver tangible benefits to communities across Rivers State before the end of his tenure.
