Concerned Edo Citizens Forum (CECF) has expressed solidarity and confidence in the capability of Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to transform Edo State if elected governor.
The group led by its Coordinator, Mr. Endurance Dirisu Coordinator and Director of Publicity and Mobilisation, Comrade Felix Osas Osagie, during a world press Conference in Benin said the Umakhihe’s declaration to run for Edo State Governorship was a clear indication that there was hope for Edo people.
Osagie said, “Dr, Umakhihe demonstrated great character, uncommon intellectual sagacity in outlining his manifesto to include Accessible Health, Agricultural Revolution, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Women Empowerment, Transportation, SME Growth and Development, Infrastructure and Rural Developments.
“His manifesto captured the entire pains of Edo people, he went further to provide solutions to the problems confronting Edo State. We commend him for such declaration, which is unprecedented in the history of Edo State. We viewed the declaration as carnival with huge success and direction for better Edo State.”
Osagie who tasked the APC and Edo people to support and nominate the aspirant, said Umakhihe was in the governorship race to transform Edo State.
While commending the people for the massive turnout of supporters at the aspirant’s declaration, Osagie said Umakhihe’s pedigree spoke volumes to give him the needed support and nomination for governorship ticket.
“Dr. Umakhihe is a distinguished and renowned Nigeria bureaucrat, an accomplishment accountant, a very respectful and resourceful retired civil servant who rose to the rank of federal permanent secretary and a core professional with special love for rebuilding society.
“As concerned Edo Citizens, we are strongly convinced that Dr. Umakhihe possesses the requisite knowledge to preside over Edo State based on his track record of service over the years.” Osagie said.
