The Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has reiterated its commitment to help the country attain over 2 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil production for the federal government.
The Chairman of TSSNL, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Warri.
Tompolo who is also the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation spoke through his Special Adviser Media and Public Communication, Mr Paul Bebenimibo.
He was reacting to the latest declaration by the Board and Management of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that crude oil production has hit 1.8 million bpd, and gas 7.4 billion cubic feet.
Mr Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the NNPCL had disclosed that the milestone was achieved in compliance with the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tompolo expressed joy for being part of the success story. Tompolo had on March 2, 2024 pledged his commitment to ensuring the nation’s daily crude oil production output continues to be on increase and by implications boost the nation’s revenue.
The Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw Nation made the pledge during the presentation of Meritorious Award on Internal Security on him by the National Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at Oporoza, the administrative headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
“The only place I have to call my country is Nigeria, so I will do everything within my power to see that crude oil production increases,” he said.
“This milestone, as you know, was achieved in collaboration with NNPCL, security forces and of course, Tantita which has been at the forefront of oil pipelines protection in the Niger Delta.
“We are determined to take it to 2mbpd before the year ends as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. All the needed machinery has been put in place to ensure that the target is achieved. We will not spare any effort to ensure that the economy of Nigeria is galvanised,” he said.
According to him, new technologies are being deployed to monitor the facilities with a view to ensuring that there was no disruption in crude oil production as well as eliminating crude oil theft in the country.
Tantita has of late led a relentless war against crude oil theft and pipelines’ vandalism, as well as sanitizing the nation’s coastal space of illegalities and confiscating their equipment.
Meanwhile, encomium from state actors had been pouring in for the NNPCL and the TSSNL as the nation’s crude oil production hit 1.8 million bpd.
